Concept art from Zack Snyder’s divisive DCEU kick-starter film, Man of Steel, has flown online, depicting Kal-El (Henry Cavill) in full costume and shredded beyond belief.
During a recent sit-down, David Leitch, director of Deadpool 2, revealed how he came to helm the feature, and the choice he had to make between that and X-Force.
Zack Snyder, director of Justice League, has once again taken to his favorite social media platform to unveil a behind the scenes photo of Ezra Miller’s costume test as The Flash.
Amongst those featured briefly in the David Leitch-directed sequel are a pair of Academy Award winners, one invisible (Brad Pitt) and one under heavy cosmetics (Matt Damon), Ryan Reynolds as Ryan Reynolds, and the X-Men. Nevertheless, a fan favourite X-Men villain made an unlikely appearance and stole the show, literally tearing his on-screen competition in half.
Yesterday, the David Leitch-directed, R-rated farce, Deadpool 2, crossed the $500 million mark at the worldwide box office. Coincidentally enough, we also learned yesterday that one of the year’s biggest blockbusters, Solo: A Star Wars Story, probably won't even reach the half-billion mark when all is said and done.
We’ve spent a good portion of 2018 praising the box office triumphs of Avengers: Infinity War, and rightfully so. The Anthony and Joe Russo-directed blockbuster grossed an unprecedented $250 million-plus stateside opening weekend, subsequently becoming the fastest film to reach the $1 billion plateau. Unfortunately, however, while the superhero flick does appear destined to eclipse the $2 billion mark worldwide, which would make it only the fourth film to do so, Infinity War won’t come close to the record $2.788 billion grossed by James Cameron’s Avatar in 2009/2010.
At the close of last weekend, we shockingly learned that Solo: A Star Wars Story, one of 2018’s most anticipated blockbusters, tanked at the box office. The Ron Howard-directed space western made just $83.3 million domestically during its opening weekend, a total worse than practically every Star Wars film released since the turn of the century, and a figure lower than that of Justice League ($93.8M), another hotly anticipated release that severely underwhelmed at the ticket booth.
The latter cameo saw the “Merc with a Mouth” cruising the X-Mansion in head honcho Charles Xavier’s trademark wheelchair, complaining about the lack of X-Men present in the school for gifted youngsters. Just as he is tossed from his ride, the camera reveals Professor X (James McAvoy), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) actively hiding from Wade Wilson.
Coming mere days after one of 2018’s biggest blockbusters, Solo: A Star Wars Story, suffered the most disappointing debut of the year, the David Leitch-directed, R-rated farce, Deadpool 2, has crossed the $500 million mark at the worldwide box office.
