After directing Iron Man 2, Jon Favreau set his sights elsewhere, but stayed close to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by serving as an executive producer on The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Avengers: Infinity War. Now, with The Jungle Book proving to be a massive success, the filmmaker is making some room in his schedule to return to that world.
Captain America: Civil War has been receiving rave reviews thus far, so it should come as no surprise to learn that Marvel's first Phase 3 movie looks set to be a massive hit. That's because tracking points to it debuting in North America with a massive $175 million haul.
The CW has released the first images from the April 26th episode of The Flash, and in them we see Barry, Joe, and Cisco attempting to track down a brand new meta-human who has kidnapped the Earth-2 Harrison Wells. While we only catch a glimpse of Griffin Grey in the gallery above, it seems like the heroes will need to navigate a creepy abandoned amusement part to find him!
Variety has revealed that 90210 alum Jessica Stroup and Banshee's Tom Pelphrey have been added to the cast of Marvel's Iron Fist. They join lead star Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, and David Wenham as Harold Meachum.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was a very divisive movie, but if there's one thing that everyone can seemingly agree on, it's that the editing was pretty choppy. The first hour or so of the film felt almost like a clip show as we jumped from one scene to the next, and the release of a bizarre deleted scene proves that some huge plot points ended up being cut.
If it feels like we've been seeing the same character images from Captain America: Civil War over and over, it's because we pretty much have. Marvel has yet to get really inventive with their posters, and while that IMAX one was pretty cool, none of the rest have really been worthy of a place on your wall.
While Spider-Man has understandably been a hot topic of discussion every time Captain America: Civil War has come up in recent months, it's important not to forget that another superhero will also be making their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe here. That is, of course, Black Panther, a character played by Chadwick Boseman.
Just days after Marvel announced the showrunners for The Defenders, yet another cast member has been confirmed. We know that the show will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, but characters from each of their respective worlds are bound to factor into the event series, and that's clearly where Eka Darville's Malcolm will come in.
Bryan Singer is currently putting the finishing touches on X-Men: Apocalypse, and once the press tour for the movie wraps up, the filmmaker will be moving on to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. What that means for the X-Men franchise is unclear; will Fox wait for him to return before picking up a story or will someone else be brought in to take the reigns?
Courtney B. Vance is coming off some absolutely incredible work in FX's excellent The People Vs. OJ Simpson, and it seems as if Hollywood has sat up and taken notice of his performance, as the actor has been cast alongside Tom Cruise in Universal's The Mummy.
