It was recently revealed that Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is in talks to return to direct Ant-Man and The Wasp, but what isn't clear right now is who will write the sequel. Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish wrote the original draft of the first movie, but when the former decided not to direct, star Paul Rudd teamed up with his Anchorman director to rewrite it before shooting began.
Superman made a very brief appearance in the pilot episode of Supergirl, greeting Kara when she arrived on Earth and dropping her off at the Danvers. His face was never shown, but there were numerous references to the Man of Steel throughout both that first instalment and the second. However, the above promo confirms that the hero will be making a physical appearance this Monday!
Doctor Strange is now shooting in Nepal, with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch recently spotted on set rocking a beard as Stephen Strange in scenes which clearly take place shortly after the accident which injures his hands.
It's certainly a bit odd that we haven't seen anything in the way of official promotional material for Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, considering that it's set to hit theatres on May 6th, 2016. Apparently, the studio is getting ready to kick the marketing machine into gear though, and rumor has it that the first trailer will be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which makes perfect sense.
A lot of set photos from Deadpool found their way online earlier this year, but almost all of them were taken on the same stretch of highway in Canada. There were so many images from that location, in fact, that some fans started wondering if the fairly low budgeted R-Rated movie was going to be set almost entirely in the one place (though the truth was, of course, that a fairly elaborate action sequence was being shot).
Rumour has it that Negan will first appear in the season six finale of The Walking Dead. For those of you unfamiliar with the character, he's a foul mouthed thug who uses violence and intimidation to bully the other communities and take a share of their supplies (those communities are expected to be introduced later on this year when it's revealed in the show - as it was in the comics - that the Alexandria Safe Zone isn't the only one out there).
Fox has released four very interesting clips from this Monday's episode of Gotham as Barbara Keane looks set to enact her revenge on former flame Jim Gordon. How things play out between Jim and Barbara promises to be very interesting here, but the character seems completely beyond redemption at this stage. While her actions could be blamed on mental illness, it’s more than a little difficult to imagine this being the woman the future Commissioner ends up marrying and having children (one of whom is Batgirl) with.
The first clip has been released from Monday's episode of Supergirl, and it sees the character pitted against the villainous Reactron (Sons of Anarchy alum Chris Browning). In the comic books, the character was actually introduced as a Supergirl villain and has since squared off with the likes of Power Girl and the Doom Patrol. He even briefly served as a member of the Suicide Squad. In other words, he's definitely a formidable foe!
Man of Steel was far from a flop back in 2013, but it still didn't perform anywhere near as strongly as Warner Bros. was hoping in terms of reviews or at the box office. That, perhaps, at least partially explains why the studio has decided to turn what was going to be the movie's sequel into a Justice League prequel and a film set to feature Superman coming to blows with Batman on the big screen for the very first time.
In all honesty, there hasn't really been a lot of suspense around the return of Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer in season four of Arrow. While the season three finale made it appear as if he had died, we knew even back then that The Atom would have a leading role in DC's Legends of Tomorrow, so a return in Arrow was only really ever going to be a matter of time.
