Following last night's shocking episode of Gotham, a promo has been released teasing next week's instalment, and it quickly becomes apparent that things between Jim Gordon and Barbara Keane are about to reach a head. Has he really been suckered in by his former flame, and more to the point, will either of them survive their next encounter? Either way, things certainly look set to take a violent turn!
Following last night's blockbuster episode of Supergirl, the first official batch of images have been released from the fourth instalment of the hit new series. As well as some great shots of the titular character, we also get to see some intriguing looking weaponry and the young actor who will play Cat Grant's son (who poor old Kara is going to have to babysit).
The first two X-Men movies were superb, but the franchise appeared to be done for after awful releases like X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Thankfully, things started looking up with The Wolverine and turned a major corner with X-Men: Days of Future Past last year (which no doubt had something to do with Bryan Singer returning to the franchise). However, all of those movies made some big mistakes.
If you happened to catch the leaked pilot of Supergirl back in May, then tonight's instalment of the hit CBS series (its premiere was officially the highest rated of the Fall) was long overdue. The episode featured some very cool reveals and a great cliffhanger, and we now have a first look at what's to come next week.
The first clip has been released for tomorrow night's episode of The Flash, and it focuses on the ramifications of the arrival of Harrison Wells from Earth-2. As you can see, both Barry Allen and Detective Joe West have very different opinions on what to do now that this man is (sort of) back in their lives, but the former is clearly clued into the fact that this isn't Eobard Thawne in disguise!
Season two of Gotham has seen the hit Fox series take things in a very interesting and unexpected direction when it comes to the evolution of The Riddler. In fact, this year has seen actor Cory Michael Smith essentially playing two different characters, as Edward Nygma's fractured psyche has led to something of a split personality.
The cast of Wonder Woman just got even more impressive! It has been revealed today that Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming DC Comics adaptation as a, "high-ranking Amazonian warrior." If the deal works out, Gal Gadot and Chris Pine will have some very good company (rumour has it that Sean Bean and Eva Green are also being considered by Warner Bros.), and while her specific role has yet to be revealed, you have to believe that Kidman is being lined up for a big part.
Last month, Bryan Singer revealed that one of X-Men: Apocalypse's biggest moments (a homage of sorts to his original X-Men movies) is actually going to end up being spoiled in the trailer. However, the director worryingly mentioned at the time that that trailer wouldn't actually be released for another six months. Surely we won't be waiting until next year for our first look at this highly anticipated release?!
It's been rumoured for a while now that Hugh Jackman will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, though we've yet to get any sort of official confirmation on that. Based on what we do know though, it doesn't sound like the character will not have a role anywhere near as significant as the one he took on in last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past. In fact, there's a chance his scenes haven't even been shot yet.
When it was revealed that Quicksilver was going to show up in X-Men: Days of Future Past, the majority of comic book fans assumed that Fox had only thrown the character in as a way of spiting Marvel Studios (who had at that time already cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role for Avengers: Age of Ultron), but it's fair to say that everyone was shocked when Evan Peters' version ended up stealing the show.
