Earlier this week, it was revealed that Zack Snyder had decided to pass the reigns of Justice League over to Joss Whedon following the tragic death of his daughter back in March. While the filmmaker was hoping to take the helm of upcoming reshoots and oversee the post-production process, he ultimately decided he couldn't do so and asked The Avengers director to take his place and finish the movie ahead of its November 2017 release.
There've been rumblings for some time now about just how many episodes the final two seasons of Game of Thrones will consist of, and while we've already heard that season 7 will run for seven, it's been confirmed today that the eighth and final outing will last for a total of just six.
The first season of Legends of Tomorrow was a tad hit and miss, but season 2 was a vast improvement over what came before. Sure, the Legion of Doom could have been handled a little better, but the team dynamic made each episode a must-watch and proved to be a highlight on more than one occasion.
Logan brought Wolverine's story to a very definitive close, but most fans and critics came out of the movie hoping to see more of Dafne Keen as the ferocious X-23. In the comic books, she becomes the new Wolverine following her father's death and the X-Men Cinematic Universe taking us down a similar path surely makes sense.
So far, Josh Boone's New Mutants has only two cast members in the form of Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and Split's Anya Taylor-Joy. However, the team looks set to make another addition in the form of Teen Wolf star Henry Zaga as Sunspot.
It was just yesterday that we got a new look at Spider-Man: Homecoming with a terrific final trailer and now, perhaps to heighten the excitement a little bit more, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have announced that the highly anticipated reboot is swinging into cinemas even sooner than expected. Well, in the UK, at least.
Not all horror films need some supernatural or paranormal element to them. In fact, some of the genre’s best efforts have been the most simple ones, with a grounded threat that feels real and believable. No one knows that better than John Carpenter, who struck gold with Halloween, one of the greatest horror movies of all-time. It needs no introduction at this point and as you've surely heard, Danny McBride and David Gordon Green will be rebooting the property with plans to release their film in 2018.
Cast one eye over Tom Cruise’s decorated filmography and you’ll find that, beyond the Mission: Impossible series and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, the actor seldom dips his toe into sequel territory. That’s quite the feat, but it seems after M:I and now Reacher, Cruise could bend his cardinal rule once again for another follow-up: Top Gun 2.
Aquaman may have been a bit of a joke in the comic book world up until this point, but director James Wan is looking to change that in 2018 when he delivers the hero's big screen solo outing, with Jason Momoa in the title role. It's a project that's shaping up quite nicely so far and if a recent DCEU leak posted to Reddit is to be believed, we should all be very excited for the film.
Since Disney purchased Marvel, they've exploited the company's many characters in movies, on television, in theme parks, and stores across the world. That's ensured that the likes of Iron Man and Spider-Man are known by people of all ages, but less popular heroes have also been given the chance to shine; take Ant-Man for example.
