Following the reveal that the Prometheus sequel will be titled Alien: Paradise Lost, director Sir Ridley Scott has shed even more light on what we should expect from the movie. For starters, it sounds like he's finally ready to address how these prequels are going to link to his 1979 classic, something which didn't really factor into Prometheus all that much.
Marvel and ABC have released the first official images from the second episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s third season. This year, the series will deal with the formation of the Secret Warriors, but this instalment is going to revolve around an Asgardian, and a hint of that can be found in the gallery below.
After a very impressive turn in The Gift, Arrested Development's Jason Bateman is set to return to the small screen as the director, star and executive producer of Ozark, a new hourlong series created by Bill Dubuque (The Judge). Unfortunately, plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being, but Deadline reveals that it takes place, "in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering." The series is named after the location it's actually set in, the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
John Goodman has today joined the cast of Kong: Skull Island, the upcoming King Kong prequel which is going to build to an eventual crossover with the Godzilla franchise. So far, the cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John C. Reilly, and Goodman is the latest impressive addition to the movie after Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons were forced to pass due to scheduling conflicts (production is set to begin later this Fall).
Ben Affleck shocked the world when he signed up to play the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but will his best friend and frequent collaborator Matt Damon one day join him in the superhero movie genre? In an interview to promote The Martian recently, the actor admitted that he might be interested, but only if the right role were to come along (he also touches on Affleck's decision to take on the role of Batman).
There's a lot of buzz surrounding Robert Zemeckis' The Walk, and it's not hard to understand why, especially when you watch the five new clips released above. The movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as high-wire walker Philippe Petit, and his story is no doubt one you'll be very familiar with if you've seen James Marsh's Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire.
After lashing out at fans who have been critical of his female led Ghostbusters reboot yesterday, director Paul Feig has taken to Twitter today to reveal that Sigourney Weaver will be showing up in the movie. This means that the Alien star will be joining original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts, but based on other recent comments from the filmmaker, he was hoping that these would be kept a secret.
For a long time, it appeared as if it was never going to happen, but Bourne 5 is now shooting with Paul Greengrass back at the helm and Matt Damon reprising the role of Jason Bourne. Both the director and star dodged questions about returning to the franchise for years, and when Jeremy Renner was brought in to play Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy, it appeared as if the franchise was set to go in a very different direction.
Well, this sounds amazing/nuts. It's been revealed today that Steven Soderbergh is developing a mysterious movie for HBO, starring Sharon Stone, that is expected to let viewers use an app to determine the course of the storyline as it goes along. Whether each viewer will thereby see different scenes depending on their choice or it will come down to an app vote of sorts is unclear, but this is certainly a unique idea.
