The Dark Knight Rises On Target For $80 Million Plus Friday Opening
Christopher Nolan is on track to break records yet again this weekend with the release of the most anticipated film of the year, The Dark Knight Rises. The final installment in the writer-director's acclaimed superhero trilogy is believed to have drawn in between $80 and $85 million on Friday alone. If the number holds true, the film will have the third all-time highest opening day ever, and the best single day for a 2D film in box office history.

Christian Bale And Nicolas Cage Considered For Nikola Tesla Drama
Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage are both reportedly being considered to star in Universal's upcoming drama Tesla, Ruler of the World. The Dark Knight Rises actor is being considered to play the titular character - inventor, physicist and engineer, Nikola Tesla and the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance star, meanwhile, is up for the role of Thomas Edison.

George Clooney Adapting Focus Features’ The Yankee Comandante
First Showing is reporting that George Clooney's Smokehouse Pictures will join with Focus Features to adapt The Yankee Comandante, an article written by David Grann that appeared in The New Yorker a few weeks ago. The political article follows U.S. Army veteran William Alexander Morgan in the late 1950s as "he aided Fidel Castro and his rebels in the Cuban revolution and went on to become the only American with a Comandante title among the forces."

Fright Night Director Tom Holland Adapting Stephen King’s The Ten O’Clock People
First Showing is reporting that the original Fright Night director Tom Holland, is reuniting with Stephen King to adapt a feature film of the horror writer's short story, The Ten O'Clock People. The two last collaborated in the 1990s, most notably on the television show The Langoliers and the film Thinner, which was Holland's last theatrical feature.
