I am always just a little wary when films go to real life for their chills and thrills. The idea of telling the story of shooters, snipers, murderers and terrorists feels just a little exploitative, and a little like aggrandizing horrific acts of violence. But very often, it's the way the story is told, and not the story itself, that makes or breaks a film like that. With the trailer for Blue Caprice, set to come to cinemas and VOD in September, I see a film worth giving a chance.
I feel like we've been talking about Jurassic Park IV longer than the Jurassic period actually lasted. There have been plot rumors popping up online and one or two photos, but that's about all director Colin Trevorrow has seen fit to tell us about this somewhat anticipated sequel to the franchise. And guess what, everyone? He's STILL not going to tell us anything.
Here's what I hate most about festival season: there are so many trailers for films that I will probably have to wait until DVD or VOD to actually see. This is certainly true of The Sea, the latest film starring Ciarán Hinds that will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

But Stephen Frears thinks that that particular court battle was his greatest fight, and so he's made a movie about it. The teaser trailer for Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight hit today, and now you can decide whether this was a worthy subject matter.
Bits and pieces continue to trickle out from the hotly anticipated sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The latest are just a few stills from the film, but as always they are a tantalizing reminder that the film will hit theatres in December, and it cannot come fast enough.
It's hard out here for a pimp, and I would imagine it'd be especially hard if you're Woody Allen. While you might not think Woody Allen when you think pimp, John Turturro certainly did when he was casting his film Fading Gigolo. And, based on the trailer that hit today, it was a pretty good idea.
Today is a day for rumors, it seems. This latest one, though, has nothing to do with either Star Wars: Episode VII or the casting of Batman in Batman vs Superman. Instead, there's a rumor circulating the tubes of the Internet that Hugh Jackman has been offered $100 million to reprise his role as Wolverine in four more Marvel movies.
