If you grew up in the '80s, chances are you were a He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe fan. The original animated series ran for 3 years and was something of a phenomenon of its time; its popularity eventually leading to a movie starring Dolph Lundgren. That was... not so great, but Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have had a reboot in the planning stages for years now, and it looks like we finally have some movement on it.
Rebecca Ferguson was one of the highlights of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, so when it was announced that her, Lea Seydoux and Abbey Lee were on the shortlist to play the female lead in Fox's X-Men spinoff, Gambit, many fans hoped to see the Swedish actress land the role. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen, as Ferguson has taken herself out of the running to star in another movie.
The various selfies taken by the members of the ensemble cast of Suicide Squad over the last few months seemed to suggest a pretty close bond within the group, but some of them have taken it to Lord Of The Rings type levels by getting matching tattoos - and not to be outdone by Peter Jackson's Fellowship, they've inked each other up!
Obviously this post will contain a pretty major Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice plot spoiler, so if you'd rather not know any details, now is the time to stop reading... okay?
A while back Hugh Jackman asked fans what they'd most like to see from his final time in the claws and mutton chops as Wolverine, and in a recent interview he revealed that "there were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back." This character has been Logan's most dauntless adversary in the comics for many years, and was most recently played by Liev Schreiber in X-Men: Origins Wolverine. Now while that movie wasn't particularly popular with fans (to put it kindly) most seemed to praise Schreiber's performance as the feral killer, who was obsessed with his "brother", Logan.
Young Levi Miller looks poised to make a name for himself on the big screen as Peter Pan in Joe Wright's telling of the origins of the "boy who wouldn't grow up," but he's also booked a TV role as Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart) son, Carter, on CBS' Supergirl.
To date. there have been two incarnations of pyromaniac Batman baddie Firefly in the DC Comics (Garfield Lynns and Ted Carson), and now Fox's Gotham will introduce a third, live-action take on the character for their upcoming second season - but with a twist!
Just in case you weren't aware of this, there's a rumor (well, really more just fan-speculation) going around that the incarnation of The Joker that Jared Leto will play in the DC Extended Universe actually used to be Batman's sidekick, Robin. This seems to have stemmed solely from the fact that in Frank Miller's much-maligned The Dark Knight Strikes Back, Dick Grayson goes doolally and reinvents himself as the new Clown Prince Of Crime. Plus, there's that defaced Robin statue in the Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice trailer, along with Bruce Wayne's line: "20 years in Gotham, how many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?"
Since Fox announced that Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) would direct and co-write their New Mutants movie, it's pretty much been radio silence regarding any further details on the project. Because of this, curious fans have begun to quiz the director about it on social media, and although he says he can't divulge any information about the plot or characters etc., he does reveal that the script he's currently working on with Knate Gwaltney is going well - and then just to prove it, he posted the above image to his Instagram account.
Though we didn't get a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer yesterday at Disney's D23 convention, there was plenty of other news to get fans hyped for our long-awaited return to the galaxy far , far away. We had our first Rogue One cast photo, an announcement that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow would be taking the helm on the yet to be titled Episode IX, and this gorgeous poster from the legendary Drew Struzan.
