The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already a massive place, full to the brim with characters, but ever since the news first broke that the studio would be collaborating with Netflix for a series of TV shows based on some of the brand's street-level heroes, fans have hoped to see some kind of crossover take place. Unfortunately, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has repeatedly played down any plans for the likes of Daredevil or Luke Cage to one day suit up with The Avengers, and now, Anthony Mackie (Falcon) has also weighed in on the matter as well.
It might seem a bit premature to be already talking about Deadpool 3, given that the second film hasn't even started shooting yet, but that hasn't stopped writer Rhett Reese from doing just that. As we all know, Cable is set to feature in Deadpool 2 before going on to have a large role alongside the Merc with a Mouth in X-Force. But just how will that team-up film differ from what's come before?
While Daredevil got to sport his classic red costume in the gritty, grounded Netflix series, the other characters haven't been as lucky. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage didn't get to suit up in their shows like they do in the comics (though we did get a few easter eggs that nodded to the outfits), and neither did Iron Fist. That's something which surprised a fair amount of people - before we found out it wouldn't be featured, that is - as his costume isn't that out there that it would have felt silly to see the show.
A new Justice League trailer is coming soon, that much we know. The damn thing has been rumored for months now, with initial reports saying it'd be with us back in December. Well, December came and went without any new footage and here we are now in March and still waiting. With the film arriving in November, it can't be too much longer before the next trailer surfaces and if speculation is to be believed, it actually may debut in just a few weeks' time.
Marvel's Iron Fist premiered on Netflix this week and many fans have already binged their way through all 13 episodes. If you're one of those people, you'll know full well about the addition of two surprise characters that weren't announced along with the rest of the cast: Bakuto (Ramon Rodriguez) and Davos (Sacha Dhawan).
The long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower arrives this July, though you'd be forgiven for not knowing. For what's set to be a huge tentpole for the studio, it's certainly been pretty quiet on the marketing front. A leaked trailer hit the web back in the fall, but Sony has really been taking their time in promoting it, and that's more than a little concerning.
With Fox continuing to lay the building blocks for their X-Men cinematic universe, one of the most important pieces of the puzzle appears to be Deadpool 2. After the wildly successful first film, expectations for the sequel to deliver are huge, but more importantly, perhaps, is its role in the lead up to X-Force. Given that both the Merc with a Mouth and Cable are set to feature heavily in the aforementioned flick, David Leitch's upcoming sequel will no doubt be planting many seeds for it, and as such, seeing who Fox chooses to play the time travelling mutant promises to be quite exciting.
This film just can't catch a break at can it? After some tumultuous behind the scenes issues were finally settled when Matt Reeves made his involvement as director official, everything seemed to be back on track for The Batman. With the script being re-worked now and production eyeing a 2018 start, it should be smooth sailing from here on out, right? Well, maybe not.
For a while there, it looked like Deadpool 2 was having a rough time of it. With the departure of director Tim Miller and some concerning rumors regarding the script, fans began to worry. All that changed though at the beginning of the month when the sequel's first promo arrived with Logan, teasing a follow up that was dark and irreverent in precisely the same way as the original.
Earlier this week, we had a bit of a bombshell dropped on us when it was revealed that Warner Bros. was looking to revive The Matrix franchise. It's a decision that's split fans down the middle, though the popular opinion seems to be that this is a dicey move. It's going to be tough for the studio to bring back the property in a meaningful way that doesn't just feel like a cash-in and understandably, people are skeptical.
