As August approaches and the summer blockbuster season starts to seriously heat up, many fans are eyeing August 16th as the triumphant return for everyone's favorite everyday superheroes in Kick-Ass 2. With many people waiting patiently to see Jeff Wadlow's souped-up sequel, a newly released international trailer should keep superfans at bay for the next, I don't know, say, two hours?

Will It Or Won’t It? Paramount’s Gamble On World War Z
Will it or won't it - a simple question. Think of it as David Letterman's "Will It Float" segment on The Late Show, except instead of watching a cheese log bob up and down in a pool full of water, I'm voicing my opinions on the upcoming feature film adaptation of Max Brooks' best-selling zombie documentary novel, World War Z. It's entered reshoots and rewrites, we've seen the questionable trailer footage, we've heard Brooks' comments, we've followed the saga of producing a big-budget mainstream zombie movie - but is all the commotion actually going to be worth it?

The Kings Of Summer Review
Ah, nature. The great outdoors. The wild, green, yonder. As a child, there's nothing more liberating than the thought of building your own house in the middle of nowhere, escaping your parents, responsibilities, and the societal bullshit that cages you like some immature, domesticated animal. Well, there's that, and the fact that you can just hang out with your buddies 24/7 acting like morons and drinking beer. Either way, The Kings Of Summer is a remarkable little "coming of age" story which follows three boys and their outdoorsy adventure into growth, bonding, self-discovery, and childhood wonderment - one we all wish we could have lived out.

Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: Home Invasion Horror
With The Purge and You're Next right around the corner, Remy and I thought now would be an appropriate time to discuss "home invasion horror." You know, those films that show a family or group of people minding their own business in either their own house or someone else's, only to have some sick, twisted bastards show up and crank the horror knob up a few notches. Whether it's a robbery, for fun, in honor of Satan, or for any reason, home invasion films are effective because of the terrifying realism that anyone can break into your house at any time. Your home is supposed to represent safety, a sanctuary from the outside world if you will, so the utter thought that someone can just barge in and threaten your safety at will is prime material for a horror flick, causing nothing but irrational fear. Sorry, did you want to sleep tonight or something?

Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: Our Favorite Underrated Zombie Movies
So Remy and I got to discussing the upcoming blockbuster zombie flick World War Z, mainly about how it's going to be one of the biggest duds we'll probably ever witness, but the topic then sparked a debate over some of our favorite lesser-known zombie films. Everyone talks about your Night of the Living dead type classics, and new films like Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead remake created more recent hubbub around the genre, but fantastic zombie movies are still being produced year after year - without anyone really noticing.

A Hijacking Review
Not enough filmmakers make use of modern-day pirate culture like Tobias Lindholm does in A Hijacking. By doing so, he reveals human emotions that burn both ends of the candle and create gripping drama from a situation not enough people take seriously.

Revenge For Jolly! Review
Revenge is a dish best served cold - or in this case soggy, in pellet form, and tasting like a combination of fish and synthetic meats. Isn't that what dog food tastes like? Sorry, I don't eat the slop myself, and definitely have never eaten a dog treat as the result of losing an ill-advised drunken bet. But why the dog references? As you can guess, Revenge For Jolly! isn't your normal revenge flick, as the murderous rampage that takes place is brought on by the assassination of a sweet, innocent, little canine named Jolly. We all know a dog is man's best friend, but would you kill for yours?

Before Midnight Review
Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, why the hell do you make such an enchanting on-screen couple?! Here it is almost two decades after Richard Linklater directed Before Sunrise, the first film to introduce our hopeless lovers Jesse and Celine, and almost a full decade after we re-visited Jesse and Celine for a romantic French encounter in Before Sunset, yet Linklater is still finding a market for his latest story about Jesse and Celine - Before Midnight. You don't see many romantic dramas being franchised these days, but Linklater has found something astonishingly special with his Before franchise.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Remake Stalled Until 2014
Uh oh - it looks like David Fincher's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea remake is dead in the water for now according to Disney. The film, whose production was supposed to start shooting in Sydney, Australia next month after a very hefty offer from the Government down under, has been pushed all the way back to 2014 - much to the dismay of an extremely eager Australia.
