Now that Game of Thrones has ended with Bran the Broken as the victor, despite not having an actual throne to occupy, it's time to start looking toward the future. And the past, according to HBO. Three GoT spinoffs are allegedly in the works, with one rumored to be a Targaryen-centric prequel. The other two are mysteries, but after Arya's open-ended goodbye in the Thrones season finale, fans are calling for Maisie Williams to continue her role.
Eleven years and eight season later, here we are. Game of Thrones came to an end tonight, and it didn't go down without a fight. Before we get into that, however, take this as your final warning before you read on: spoilers are ahead for the series finale!
The end has come for Game of Thrones. Not like any of us are surprised, but there haven't been many TV shows with finales that were this hyped up, and though it was definitely a bit of a divisive conclusion, it still delivered and left audiences around the world thrilled and with a ton to talk about.
No matter how prepared you were for last night's series finale of Game of Thrones, it still hit like a ton of bricks. While it may be too soon after Jaime and Cersei's fate for that joke, the final episode really did deliver an emotional punch and fans won't be getting over it any time soon.
It seems like Westworld is set to pick up the pieces that Game of Thrones is leaving scattered with its controversial final season. And maybe, just maybe, the former is making a play for some of the fans that the latter is going to lose by releasing the trailer for its third run during GoT's last airing.
So much for secret identities. The list of friends and family who know that (spoiler alert!) Peter Parker is Spider-Man just keeps getting longer. Tony Stark, Aunt May, Ned, and now M.J.!
If you thought Game of Thrones fans couldn't get any more vocal about how much they dislike the final season of the show, think again. Remember the Change.org petition that was started a few days ago to get season 8 remade? Bet you didn't think it would reach its goal of 1 million signatures, did you?
This weekend, Game of Thrones is set to wrap up ten years and eight seasons of epic plots and thrilling character development. Unfortunately, though, it'll be with a final batch of episodes that some fans say have been exactly the opposite.
There are two sure signs a TV show is either doing something very right, or very wrong. First, with each passing week, it tops the trending hashtags on Twitter. And second, petitions are drafted demanding everyone be fired and the series remade. Game of Thrones, it seems, has all of those problems and then some this season.
