When looking at the Star Wars franchise as a whole, everyone is in agreement that the Original Trilogy remains a nigh-on untouchable landmark in cinematic history, but outside of those three iconic movies, there's plenty of debate surrounding the rest of the big screen projects set in a galaxy far, far away.
Netflix may have significantly expanded their lineup of high profile and critically acclaimed in-house content since Stranger Things first debuted in 2016, but the series is still widely regarded as their undisputed marquee show. It took a bit for the Duffer brothers' sci-fi horror to sink its teeth into the public consciousness, but by the time the second season arrived it was a fully-fledged cultural phenomenon.
Even though all of the Defenders will eventually be rebooted and absorbed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the vast majority of the recent speculation has mostly focused on the cast of Netflix's canceled Daredevil.
Despite being one of the mainstays of the franchise since Phase One and a key member of the Avengers, the Hulk occupies unique territory in the MCU. For a franchise that prides itself on a shared mythology, if it wasn't for the return of Thaddeus Ross in recent movies, then The Incredible Hulk could be wiped from the franchise's continuity entirely and it wouldn't change a single thing.
A lot of fans still can't seem to reconcile the fact that Brie Larson is here to stay as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain Marvel, with the tens of thousands of people that signed the various petitions demanding her removal set to be massively disappointed when Carol Danvers plays a much bigger role in the franchise going forward.
