The Wolverine To Shoot In October, Heading For 2012 Release
Hugh Jackman wasn't going to let it die, and it hasn't. The Wolverine had however been in turmoil for a long time. They had originally planned to shoot in Japan over summer but atrocious earthquakes made that impossible. Then things hit a snag when Darren Aronofsky vacated the directing job, due to the lack of uncertainty in the project and the amount of time he would have to spend away from his family. Despite several fallbacks Jackman was not prepared to let this go. And he hasn't.

Gary Ross Will Direct Carey Mulligan In Outback
British actress Carey Mulligan hasn't exactly struggled for interesting work ever since her Oscar nominated role in An Education. Her upcoming projects include the Nicolas Winding Refn Cannes award winner Drive, artist Steve McQueen's Shame with Michael Fassbender and in July she will shoot The Great Gatsby in Australia with Baz Luhrmann. 300 Prequel ‘300: Battle Of Artemisia’ Close To Finding A Director
Since 300 grossed nearly $500 million, it was likely that there would be a sequel/prequel of some sorts. After the producers confirmed its existence, it was announced that the film would be called Xerxes and be a prequel about the villain of the original film, the leader of the Persians. There were rumors of Guy Ritchie picking it up, however news then went silent. Now things appear to all be going forward again as two directors are in contention and the title has undergone a change.

Warner Bros Sets Release Dates For Pacific Rim And Contagion
Warner Bros. has announced the release dates for two of its most exciting upcoming projects, Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim and Steven Soderbergh's Contagion. Soderbergh's upcoming flick has been moved from October 21st to September 9th, steering well clear of the other thriller/horror movie Paranormal Activity 3 (which Contagion would compete against) but which worryingly hasn't started shooting yet. Instead Contagion will now battle against Warrior which stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton.

Boardwalk Empire Season 2 Teaser Trailer
The mammoth that is Boardwalk Empire, which is currently the flagship show on HBO, is seemingly unstoppable. The credentials behind it are amazing. Martin Scorsese directed the first episode and stayed on to guide the show as executive producer and the show's creator is Terence Winter, a writing alumnus from The Sopranos.

The Coen Brothers Next Film Set In The 60’s New York Folk Scene, T. Bone Burnett Working On The Music?
2011 will be the first year in four years that we won't get a Coen Brothers film. 2007 had No Country for Old Men, 2008 had Burn After Reading, 2009 had A Serious Man and last year we had True Grit. However, they are still working and there has been much discussion around their next project. The film, which they hope to get in production sometime next year, will be a musical project, with they revealed in a Q&A with Noah Baumbach. They also mentioned that the music would, "be performed live, with single instrument".
