Elon Musk, still embarrassingly desperate for Stephen King’s attention, tries to one-up his horror film recs

Just a bit desperate there, Elon.

The ever-growing trend of celebrities engaging in a war of words online has yet to show any signs of slowing down. And while the complicated verbiage typically revolves around political figures like Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene these days, there’s absolutely no denying that the long-standing feud between Twitter CEO Elon Musk and horror novelist Stephen King attracts a fair degree of curiosity. Although, it now appears to feel more as though Musk is just desperate for King’s attention at this point.

Last night on Twitter, King shared an encouraging review of Evil Dead Rise — the franchise’s newest horror chapter which releases in theaters this Friday. Without skipping a beat, Musk replied to the tweet early this morning by simply stating: “Evil Dead 2.” Based on both figures mentioning the movie, it’s obvious both men are fans of the franchise.

On the other hand, it feels completely laughable that Musk is attempting to imply he knows more about horror movies than the master of horror himself. After all, King made a name for himself back in the ‘70s/’80s by crafting a plethora of iconic novels which eventually were transformed into television and film adaptations — including Cujo, Carrie, It, and The Shining.

Then again, when you step back and examine, Musk has built a questionable track record of desperately trying to capture King’s attention, to the point where King even stepped up and insisted that Musk’s Twitter activity is just “a little weird.” Better stay focused on SpaceX instead, Elon.
