Long before he was one of the world’s most recognizable podcast hosts, Joe Rogan was enjoying a high-profile career.

Many people have long forgotten the 54-year-old’s stint on Fear Factor, but the internet never forgets. In the years before he made the switch to YouTube and Spotify, Rogan was spending most of his time on set of the stunt game show. He hosted NBC’s popular series for years, between 2001 and 2006, and even returned to briefly host the show’s revival season between 2011 and 2012. 

Even before his stint on Fear Factor, Rogan was making a name for himself in the world of stand-up comedy. He’s been on the comedy circuit for years, enjoying frequent stand-up appearances and numerous televised specials and spending what little time he has left split between his podcast and his work as a UFC color commentator. His podcast is what he is most broadly known for, however, and it has contributed in a massive way to Rogan’s enviable wealth. 

Several controversies over the last several years have given Rogan recognition of a different sort and have contributed to his status as an occasionally problematic figure. His popularity has become the topic of harsh debate in many circles, but all that drama has done little to leech Rogan’s popularity.

Joe Rogan’s height

The former Fear Factor host tends to pull in around 11 million listeners per episode, according to The Conversation, and many of his most loyal followers can’t get enough. His name commonly trends on Twitter as new conversations and rumors spark up around him. One of the more prominent rumors about Rogan claims that the UFC commentator stands at only 5’ 3″, several inches shorter than most people assume.

The viral rumor was most likely born of a public marriage proposal that, at its conclusion, claimed that “Joe Rogan is literally 5 foot 3,” according to Suggest. The claim propelled rumors about Rogan’s height and quickly blurred the line between fact and fabrication.

The truth appears to align with Rogan’s public IMDb page, as noted by Suggest. Rogan actually stands closer to 5’ 7″, according to comparisons between Rogan and other celebs during public appearances. His Wikipedia page claims that Rogan is a touch taller, standing at 5’ 8″, which — regardless — puts him several inches above the widely believed “tall” tale.
