‘So bizarre’: Simon Cowell got $150,000 offer to judge couple’s intimate sessions and give ‘expert opinion’

He turned down an easy $150,000, but for good reasons.

Simon Cowell, the famously blunt and often brutally honest judge from shows like American IdolThe X Factor, and America’s Got Talent, recently shared a truly strange story. Apparently, a couple once offered him $150,000 to judge them while they had sex.

He told this story during an interview on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast found by TMZ, and it shows just how extreme and weird fame can get, including the odd requests celebrities sometimes receive.

The whole thing happened in a restaurant. While talking about the weird things fans have asked him to do, Cowell explained that a couple came up to him and first asked for a photo. But then, the request took a surprising turn. After introducing his wife, the husband suddenly asked Cowell if he would be willing to watch and judge them while they had sex.

Simon Cowell turned down a strange offer from a fan

Cowell, who started his career as a successful music executive before becoming a TV judge, is no stranger to strange fan interactions. He mentioned that people often ask him to insult them, something he usually refuses. But this time, things took a much more unusual turn when a couple approached him with a far more personal proposal.

At first, Cowell thought they were joking. It was such an outrageous request that he couldn’t believe they were serious. But the couple made it clear they meant it—and even offered him $150,000 for his “expert opinion.” The huge amount of money made Cowell stop and actually think about it for a moment, putting him in a very strange moral dilemma.

On TV, he’s known for his harsh criticism and tough judging style, but this request forced him to think about the real-life consequences of that reputation. It wasn’t just about entertainment anymore; it was about how far people might go because of the persona he’s built.

In the end, even though the money was tempting, Cowell said no. While $150,000 is a lot of money, the weirdness and ethical issues of the request were just too much. He later called the whole thing “so bizarre,” which perfectly sums up how surreal the experience must have been.

Why the couple made this offer is still a mystery. Maybe they wanted a performance review of their sex life, inspired by Cowell’s judging style. Or maybe it was just a stunt to get attention and go viral. Whatever the reason, it proves that celebrities deal with some truly unpredictable and strange situations because of their fame.
