According to People, the 46-year-old actress, known for her roles in popular shows like Sister, Sister and Twitches, responded to fans’ questions about her experiences as a young performer in Hollywood.

“Growing up in front of the world? That part was tough,” Mowry said, explaining that it was challenging to figure out who she was while everyone had an opinion about her. She credited her sister and family for helping her stay grounded during those formative years.

Child stardom taught her valuable work ethics, but limited normal childhood experiences

While acknowledging some benefits of early stardom, such as learning responsibility and understanding professional commitments before college, Mowry emphasized that her childhood experiences were different from those of regular kids, particularly when it came to dating and personal development.

The actress, who starred alongside her twin sister Tamera in several successful projects, stressed the importance of allowing children to have space to discover themselves. She noted that while she’s proud of her work ethic, she believes young people need room to learn who they are without the pressures of public scrutiny.

Mowry’s career in entertainment spans several decades, starting with Sister, Sister, which ran from 1994 to 1999. She and her sister went on to appear in various Disney productions, including Seventeen Again in 2000 and the Twitches franchise in 2005 and 2007.

Despite the challenges she faced as a child actor, Mowry maintains a positive outlook on her acting career. She expressed her love for the collaborative nature of the entertainment industry, appreciating how different creative professionals come together to create meaningful content. She particularly values the connections and memories made during productions, as well as the opportunity to share the final product with audiences worldwide.
