‘Wednesday’ fans spot Jenna Ortega seemingly unfollowing Twitter accounts bringing up Percy Hynes White accusations

Not even Jenna Ortega is free of internet criticism.

The Internet’s favorite obsession and IT girl Jenna Ortega has won over the hearts of millions of fans worldwide with her rendition of the stoic-faced Wednesday Addams. Despite her ginormous popularity on social media, the actress has now been the target of criticism from eagle-eyed fans who are less than pleased with Ortega’s indifference towards Percy Hynes White.

White, who played the love interest Xavier in Wednesday, was accused of sexual assault in January of 2023. Within the web of sexual misconduct allegations, alongside Netflix’s failure to handle the situation regarding one of its actors, developments have been closely followed by a few avid fans who are less than impressed by the cast’s seeming nonchalance — and Ortega is no exception. Following the social media backlash, not only has Ortega remained silent regarding the situation, but the 20-year-old actress appears to have been unfollowing some of the fans who have been openly condemning White.

Albeit not yet confirmed, the allegations resulted in a number of screenshots being shared all across media platforms, exposing White’s alleged predatory behavior towards women and girls between the ages of 17-20 years old. Since then, neither Netflix nor cast members have since spoken on the subject. Some fans are, however, attempting to find a silver lining in the suspicious Twitter activity, blaming it on a bug or mistake from the actress’ end. Others simply praise the actress’ choice to unfollow those speaking ill about her “best friend.”

It is not yet known whether White will reprise his role as Xavier for the second season of Wednesday.
