Yolanda Hadid has fired back at critics who called her recent Instagram post featuring her granddaughter Khai “inappropriate.” The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star posted photos to celebrate her son Anwar Hadid’s birthday, which included images of the 4-year-old child.
According to Page Six, the controversy started when an Instagram user commented on one of the photos showing Anwar playing with his niece at the beach. The critic wrote that posting such photos was not okay and that a child’s privacy should always be respected. They also asked Yolanda to think about how this might affect Khai in the future.
Yolanda, who is 61 years old, did not take the criticism well. She responded by telling the user to “please go and harass somebody else’s feed” and that they were “not welcome here.” The heated exchange happened after the user called the beach photo “really inappropriate.”

The photo that caused the debate was the fifth picture in Yolanda’s birthday tribute to her 26-year-old son, Anwar. It showed him playing with Khai at the beach, where the little girl wore a red bathing suit. However, Khai’s face was turned away from the camera in the image. She also appeared in another photo where she stood beside her uncle as they watched a rodeo.
Many of Yolanda’s followers came to her defense after the criticism. One fan pointed out that Yolanda has her daughter’s blessing and that she was not even showing her granddaughter’s face in the photos. However, not everyone agreed with this view. Another user argued that Yolanda has a large following and that “people are creeps,” suggesting that posting any photos of the child could be risky.
The debate highlights the ongoing challenge that celebrity families face when sharing moments with their children on social media, similar to how Bradley Cooper has faced relationship speculation throughout his career. Yolanda became a grandmother in 2020 when her daughter Gigi Hadid and former partner Zayn Malik welcomed Khai.
The former couple has been co-parenting their daughter since they ended their relationship for good in 2021. Gigi, who is 30 years old, is currently dating Bradley Cooper and recently offered rare glimpses into their relationship, while Zayn Malik is 32.
Since Khai’s birth, both Gigi and Zayn have been very careful about protecting their daughter’s privacy. They have consistently shielded Khai’s face from the public eye. In an open letter written the year after Khai’s birth, Gigi explained that she and Zayn want their daughter “to live as normal a childhood as possible.” She added that their wish is for Khai to “choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age.” Despite this commitment to privacy, Gigi does share glimpses of Khai on her social media, including birthday party pictures and summer photos, though always while protecting her daughter’s identity. In April, when an Instagram user told Gigi that she “could feel how loved and special Khai is” without seeing her face, the model replied that the comment meant a lot to her.
