Secret Empire: Brave New World Set To Unite A Diverse Group Of Heroes, Includes All-New Patriot

When any major crossover event published by the Big Two launches, tie-in books inevitably follow. With Secret Empire being no exception, three one-shots are set to drop this spring/summer – Uprising, United and Underground – each of which will explore how different corners of the Marvel Universe stand up to the forces of Hydra. And while those will no doubt make for intriguing reads, I couldn’t help but notice the absence of a complementary miniseries.

Apparently, Marvel was merely holding their cards close to their vest until just recently, for Secret Empire: Brave New World will be just that. It looks as though writer Paul Allor (Uncanny Inhumans) will act as the glue that holds a team of all-star creators together as they unite some of the most eclectic lineups of superheroes we’ve seen. But then again, I do suppose that a world overrun by Hydra would make for some interesting alliances.

Allor had this to say about the inclusion of the Invaders:

“SECRET EMPIRE: BRAVE NEW WORLD is going to be a vital chapter during the events of Secret Empire. I am so excited to tell the story of how Cap’s first allies: the Invaders –the original Human Torch, Toro, and Namor – are dealing with Steve epitomizing everything they always stood against and now how they need to defend the Kingdom of Atlantis from the tightening grip of Hydra.”

Aside from them, expect to see the likes of Gwenpool, Blade, Ironheart and an All-New Patriot put in appearances. Yes, this does sound like someone is putting together a team for an RPG, but you have to admit it’s highly enticing.

For the time being, we don’t have full solicits to offer for Secret Empire: Brave New World, but you can check out the creative teams for the first two issues below, along with their rough release date:
