Aliens: Colonial Marines appears to be doing everything right. With a few short weeks until the game’s launch, the team at Gearbox Software is already proving that they can capture the essence of the classic Aliens film, and push it even further.

The brand new “Kick-Ass” trailer gives games a great glimpse into what fans of Aliens will be able to expect with the game. The new trailer may be trying a little bit too hard to prove how epic it will be, but it definitely gets the point across. An amazing lighting system will help to provide intense situations as you walk through tight corridors, hearing the terrifying beep of your motion detector, and finally realizing that Xenos are all around you as they drop into the light.

Of course, this won’t be a problem for you because you’ve got the firepower of an entire platoon, right?

If it’s not enough that you’re going to have a vast arsenal at your disposal, then be sure to play through the campaign with three of your closest battle buddies. Gearbox has been going to great lengths to ensure that fans of multiplayer gaming will have dynamic drop-in/drop-out co-op. This should make it all the more terrifying when you’re left all alone to fend off the waves of Xenos.

The real highlight of the trailer though has to be the much rumored ability to re-enact everyone’s favorite Aliens scene, with the infamous Power Loader. If I were you, I would start jotting down a few of your best one-liners. It never hurts to be prepared, right?

Aliens: Colonial Marines is slated for a solid February 12th release date, so it’s just around the corner. Enjoy the newest trailer while you wait, and as always, drop your thoughts in the comments below!
