Personally, I’m all for weapons and items that go beyond pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger. For example, I remember having a hell of a lot of fun with remote mines on Goldeneye multiplayer way back in the N64 days, so anything like that coming to Apex Legends is fine by me.

But there is a note of caution here. Respawn Entertainment is also responsible for the seriously underrated Titanfall 2. That game was built on a heavily modified version of Valve’s Source Engine, with Apex being built on top of that. This means that there are references in the Apex Legends code to items and abilities in Titanfall 2, including wall-running and Titans. C4 satchel charges were indeed a weapon in Titanfall 2, so there’s at least a chance that it could be a vestigial remnant of the last game’s multiplayer.

However, it should be noted that this C4 satchel charge looks substantially different from the one in Titanfall 2, which could be a positive indication in favor of it eventually being added. Time will tell, but as soon as we hear concrete information (either from Respawn themselves or from a very firm leak), we’ll have it for you right here, so stay tuned.
