Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment have unleashed the newest character for Injustice: Gods Among Us today, and it’s none other than Aquaman. The newest trailer highlights the King of the Seven Seas as he fights off against hero and villain alike by his throne in Atlantis.

The gameplay footage is mixed into a variety of cut-scenes that help establish how Aquaman fits into the world of Injustice. Additionally, we are also given a glimpse into the moves that he has at his disposal. With a variety of attacks that utilize his spear and powers of the sea, it seems that players will be able to see Aquaman’s incredible skills first hand.

For anyone who hasn’t been following the New 52’s take on Aquaman, it means that you are probably unaware of how incredibly awesome he really is. I’m just saying that if you could command behemoth sharks, that breach the surface of the ocean and decimate a horde of invading aliens, you’d feel greatly under appreciated too.

Injustice appears to be taking the personality of Aquaman straight out of the New 52 comic runs, which is a great thing. Hopefully, players will come to understand the true power that Aquaman holds.

The fighting roster of DC characters continues to grow as Injustice makes its way to its April 16th release date. Here’s a list of characters that have been confirmed for the game.

  • Aquaman
  • Batman
  • Green Lantern
  • Killer Croc
  • Lex Luthor
  • DeathStroke
  • Superman
  • Green Arrow
  • Harley Quinn
  • The Joker
  • Catwoman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Flash
  • Solomon Grundy
  • Nightwing
  • Cyborg

With this solid roster, it seems that we could very well be reaching the cap for playable characters. Luckily, this sad thought can be buried, and replaced with the hopes that NetherRealm still has a few tricks up their sleeve.

Which heroes and villains do you hope make the cut for Injustice: Gods Among Us? Who’s missing from the roster? Is the inclusion of Aquaman a disappointing waste of a character slot? Make your voice heard in the comments below.
