Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel isn’t trying to be something that it’s not. Any fans out there who had their fun with the previous two games knows that underneath all of the guns and explosions is a game that just wants you to have fun with a friend. A gloriously-explosive-action filled romp.

With the brand new “Overkill” trailer, Visceral Games is showing off exactly how much they understand what the game is about. Taking into account their history with the Dead Space franchise it really shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that the new is a little gorier than the previous installments. But what would you expect from the studio that developed the legendary Isaac Clarke?

If you haven’t been able to tell from the trailer mass amounts of destruction and firepower are a huge focus for the team. By making full use of the Frostbite 2 engine the Visceral team has been able to create destructible environments for you to decimate. Building up your Overkill ability will allow you to shred your way through walls, barriers.

Of course, the core focus of the game is still co-op, and you are surely going to need it as you face off against one of the deadliest cartels the world over. What does this mean to you? Well it’s quite simple, playing cooperatively is going to be crucial to your success just as it has been in the previous installments. Be sure to make efficient use of flanking techniques and suppression in order to bypass enemy defenses.

Did I forget to mention that Visceral has significantly increased the customization options on both the characters and weapons? Oh, happy day!

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel is set to release on March 26th, so make sure you go out and find a battle buddy.
