You know what the video game market has been missing as of late? Artsy 2D platformers packed with tons of puzzles. It seems like it would be a genre that would win a ton of awards if anybody were to tap into that market, right?

All joking aside, though, The Bridge, the award winning title from Midnight City, has enjoyed more than a few accolades in its time on PC. Now us console gamers can get in on the mind bending action too and enjoy the title on XBLA for $9.99.

Using environments inspired by M.C. Escher’s artwork, The Bridge looks to offer plenty of brain-melting puzzles and gorgeous levels to explore. For a better explanation of what to expect, check out part of the press release below:

On his journey, our protagonist explores all 360 degrees of reality and is challenged with varying puzzles that literally turn his world upside down. Puzzles present themselves through five chapters, each containing six puzzle rooms to test your skills. As an added bonus, players who complete the core levels can return to master mirror versions of all 24 original levels, essentially doubling the content adding a major replay factor.

New features and conundrums continually evolve and present themselves, keeping gameplay fresh and perplexing to even the most experienced puzzler fans. Critical thinking is key to player progress and is not limited to just the environment; players will face off with “The Menace,” gravitational vortexes and parallel universes which add additional layers of content and strategy to this award winning title. Additionally, the rewind function lets players retry key moments in the game without having to reset the puzzle; a powerful tool that should not be underestimated.

If you can’t get enough of indie puzzlers then The Bridge might be the game for you. Be sure to give it a shot on XBLA for $9.99 and check back soon for our review!
