Battlefield 1 is to receive a brand new Custom Game later this month, DICE has announced. Revealed on the developer’s official blog (via GameSpot) earlier today, the new mode is named Bleed Out and will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from January 18. A revised version of the existing Rush playlist, Bleed Out follows the same general rules as the former but sees your teammates bleed out considerably faster after being downed. Furthermore, similarly to hardcore mode, health regeneration has been removed entirely.

Aside from Bleed Out, DICE also has plans to roll out a further update in February that will introduce “gameplay improvements based on our constant testing and the feedback from you, the community. Expect more details and full update notes to be revealed in the near future.”

So far, all additional content released for Battlefield 1 has been made available free of charge, with the tail end of last year seeing the release of the free Giant’s Shadow map, as well as various changes to existing war zones and weapons in the name of balance.

As for paid content, DICE reminds players that They Shall Not Pass, the shooter’s first expansion, is still on course for a launch in March and will introduce four maps as well as a French multiplayer faction. No further details on the upcoming content are provided in the post, but a new piece of concept art depicting a war-torn landscape can be seen below.
