It seems that Castlevania titles are being released more and more frequently these days. Only weeks after the HD re-release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, Konami has announced that the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection is now available on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The bundle, which contains both Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, also comes with a demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the final chapter in the trilogy to be released in February 2014. Two DLC packs released for the first installment are also included. For those who haven’t checked out either title, see below for a brief description of what to expect from the collection:

• Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Players are Gabriel Belmont, a holy knight charged with protecting innocents from the malevolent Lords of Shadow, as the spirit of his murdered wife guides him to his ultimate destiny. Included with the first chapter are the ‘Reverie’ and ‘Resurrection’ DLC packs.

• Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD – The second chapter of the series continues the story 25 years after the events of the original Lords of Shadow, as Gabriel’s descendants confront their destiny.

• Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Demo – Setting the stage for the upcoming conclusion, players have their first chance to play as Dracula in the Lords of Shadow final exclusive demo.

While the collection itself is appealing to fans of the series, it’s perplexing that Konami would release Mirror of Fate HD only a few weeks before putting out this collection. Although this does give players the chance to pick up just Mirror of Fate HD, it’s odd that Konami didn’t see fit to release both outings at the same time.

If you’ve been curious to check out the rebooted Castlevania series, then be sure to pick up the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection for $39.99 on your preferred console.
