If you’d been planning to pick up BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition Game of the Year Edition, with the hope that all of its bonus content would be included on-disc, prepare to be disappointed. Electronic Arts has quashed those dreams, by matter-of-factly stating that all of the game’s DLC will be made available via a download voucher.

Said confirmation came via Twitter, where the official account told a curious fan what EA’s plans are:

In all likelihood, this decision was made in order to cut down on production costs, as a second disc could have been required for all of the add-on content. That, or the publisher decided to use the same disc that’s included in the regular edition to save money. Still, it’s disappointing news in an age where not all gamers have great Internet, or much hard-drive space to spare. Then again, it is a sign of the times, as gaming continues to push its digital revolution.

The Dragon Age: Inquisition Game of the Year Edition will begin its quest on October 6th, and will grant those who purchase it access to every one of the game’s already-released DLC packs.
