Earlier today, EA and Klei Entertainment made the announcement that gamers would once again be able to experience the brutal side-scrolling adventure of Shank via Shank 2, which is scheduled for an early 2012 release.

In Shank 2, players once again step into the shoes of former mob hit man, Shank, as he must embark on another danger filled journey when those close to him are endangered. The violent sequel will bring the same action and brawling controls that players of the first game are familiar with while delivering a new arcade-style survival co-op mode where gamers work together to take down enemies. Weapon pick-ups and the environment itself must be relied upon for survival.

Shank 2 will be available for Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network and PC in early 2012. To learn more about the game you can visit its official website.

When the first game was released, I had the opportunity to give it a try. My overall experience with the game was enjoyable. It was bloody, brutal and gave a great side-scrolling experience. With the announcement of Shank 2, I’m not really expecting the game to be that much different, but it should still make for a fun game to play.
