For those players holding out for the PlayStation Plus Edition of DriveClub, Evolution Studios has stated that there is still “a lot of work to do” before subscribers are able to gain access to the trail version of the beleaguered racer.

Taking to Twitter, the studio issued the statement to a fan who questioned the status of the delayed demo, which was originally scheduled to launch in tandem with the full game back in October.

Alas, it seems unlikely that PlayStation Plus users will have the opportunity to try DriveClub before the year’s end, given that Evolution’s simulator struggled to cope with the pent-up demand a couple of months ago. Fast forward to December and we understand that the company is still ironing out the kinks within the title, including the dedicated app, which is currently “on hold until server capacity improves further, to avoid app connections impacting online play.”

Sever capacity is far and away the biggest priority for Evolution at this time, and we’re hoping to learn more about the improvements over the coming weeks. That said, there is some good news for those who own DriveClub, as the studio recently confirmed that dynamic weather would be appearing in the game over the coming days.

As it stands, it looks unlikely that the PlayStation Plus edition of DriveClub will see the light of day in 2014.
