As the name suggests, next week’s update will see the player’s Warrior Of Light character finally face-off with the dragon Nidhogg in a climactic battle that will conclude the Dragonsong War story arc started with the game’s Heavensward expansion, as well as introduce several other new features.

Continuing the trend set by previous patches, two new dungeons, Hullbreaker Isle (Hard) and Sohr Khai, along with a new 24-man raid titled The Weeping City of Mhach will be added, as will a new boss trial ominously-titled The Final Steps of Faith.

Other features include The Aquapolis, a bonus dungeon of sorts that has a chance of appearing every time you successfully complete specific treasure maps, and The Palace Of The Dead – a challenge mode that puts all players on an even playing field by temporarily resetting your Job level to 1.

More housing plots, Beast Tribe quests, hairstyles and decorations round out the remainder of what’s on offer, ensuring there’s something for hardcore and casual players alike to enjoy in seven days time.
