Final Fantasy XV’s Pinball Spinoff Is Being Terminated Next Year

Justice Monsters Five, the mobile pinball spinoff of Final Fantasy XVwill be shut down by Square Enix as of March 27th, 2017. On that date, the game won’t even be a year old — since it launched on August 30 of this year, that means it will only have been out for seven months before its cancellation (and this announcement comes just four months after its arrival). As announced on the company’s site, no reason was given for the termination — although Square Enix did apologize to players who would be affected by its removal.

Since microtransactions were available as part of the game in the form of Gold Orbs currency, Square Enix is going to refund any unused Orbs when the game goes offline. Furthermore, players will also not be able to buy any more Gold Orbs starting on February 27th, 2017.

Final Fantasy XV

Justice Monsters Five players can still enjoy a relatively simplified version of the game, though — that is, if they already own Final Fantasy XV or plan on buying it soon. As Noctis and friends explore that game’s open world, they can come across special diners that have JMF tables available for play. And thankfully, the in-universe version doesn’t have any of those pesky microtransactions.
