Drinkbox Studios has announced that they will be bringing their critically acclaimed action adventure title Guacamelee! to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014. The lucha libre themed sidescroller was previously released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC earlier this year.

Subtitled the Super Turbo Champion Edition, this updated version of Guacamelee! will feature new enemies, two new worlds, upgraded visuals and a new “chicken bomb” ability. Unfortunately, no exact release date has been announced but a Spring 2014 window was given.

Personally, I have not gotten around to playing this title yet, even though it is a fusion of lucha libre culture and 2D action platforming, two things I really enjoy. Although I had planned on purchasing the game eventually, it would probably be in my best interest to wait for this definitive edition now that it’s been announced.

We will continue to have coverage of Guacamelee! Super Turbo Champion Edition in the lead-up to its release. Tell us, are you excited to experience the tale of Juan Aguacate on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Let us know in the comments section below.
