Here’s Everything Included In Apex Legends’ Next Big Patch

Apex Legends' next big patch is scheduled to go live on all platforms any day now, bringing with it a whole host of much-requested tweaks. Try as it might, Respawn has struggled to stay on top of various bugs and glitches found to be affecting the battle royale since launch, an ongoing battle with no discernible end in sight, though this particular batch of fixes should help somewhat tip the scales in its favor.

In addressing fans over on Reddit, community manager Jay Frechette begins with a particularly contentious issue: audio. Kings Canyon regulars have been reporting for some time now that distortion and missing sound effects have been hampering their enjoyment of the shooter, especially for those that rely on using audio cues to discern the proximity of other players. “We have made improvements both in our code and with our content that will hopefully fix these issues for many players,” says Frechette, adding that while the problem might not be resolved completely, occurrence rates as a whole should be reduced drastically.

Moreover, a further sweep looking at wonky performance and hit detection is on the cards, both of which should see improvements in the form of wide-reaching adjustments outlined previously by the developer, though the best is yet to come.

As one of the weakest, least popular characters among the wider player base, Gibraltar has received several in-depth buffs over the last month or so in an attempt to boost his pick rate. The result of that tinkering was the ‘Fortified’ perk introduced in an earlier patch, though only following this week’s update will it function exactly as intended. Furthermore, the adhesiveness of Gibraltar’s man-sized shield has been eliminated, meaning grenades and other objects will no longer stick to its surface. As a compromise, however, Respawn says it will now have the ability to deflect Arc Stars.

As expected, there’s no new content to speak of in Apex Legends‘ upcoming patch, though sit tight – Season 2’s reveal is just around the corner, and you can see here for all the details.
