Heralding the first batch of free post-launch content for Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft and 343 have announced the contents of the shooter’s Battle of Shadow and Light Update, which is due to release at some point next week.

Bundling together the ninja-themed Shinobi armor along with the Dying Star Light Rifle – that’s a legendary armament, mind you – the inaugural content drop is certainly brimming with content, though it is arguably the arrival of Big Team Battle maps that ought to pique the interest of the game’s loyal fanbase.

The latter feature will also welcome no less than four additional maps to Guardians‘ multiplayer component. Hosting intense 8v8 firefights, Big Team Battle Mode will soon become the biggest mode outside of the fan-favorite Warzone. Offering a play-by-play breakdown of the new content coming to the shooter, 343 released a concise infographic highlighting the newcomers, and you can check it out right here.

Halo 5: Guardians is available now exclusively on Xbox One. For more on 343’s latest installment in the beloved franchise, check out our glowing review.
