Respawn Spills The Beans On Octane, Apex Legends’ Newest Addition

PlayStation Blog has offered a little more insight into Octane, the newest playable character to join the ranks of Apex Legends.

What others call dangerous, Legends call Tuesday.

That’s the resounding message coming from Electronic Arts today following the unveiling of Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass – Wild Frontier. Due to arrive tomorrow, March 19th, the content pack bundles together “new Legends, fresh loot, and special events,” along with a slew of freebies for all Apex players.

Yes, you won’t have to part with any real-world money to enjoy a Wild Frontier Legend skin, five Apex Packs, and 18 stat trackers. But the real pick of the bunch is Octavio ‘Octane’ Silva, a new character who may look familiar to those who caught wind of recent online leaks.

Nevertheless, Octane is about to spice things up in a big way, as the following teaser trailer confirms:

Octane is clearly a wild child, then – an adrenaline junkie, if you will. Per Respawn, the newest Apex Legends character lost both his legs during a “record-breaking gauntlet speed-run,” and his death-defying moves make him a shoo-in to become the next champion. Players will get the chance to take Octane out for a spin once Season 1 goes live tomorrow, March 19th, and we have a sneaking suspicion that his Launch Pad Ultimate Ability will prove very, very popular.

Via EA:

His Adrenaline Junkie ability lets him trade health for speed, and an endless supply of Stim health regeneration means he’s always ready for action. His Launch Pad Ultimate Ability lets his squad fly through the air with the greatest of ease. Jump into Apex Legends and play Octane tomorrow!

Look for Apex Legends Season 1 to boot online tomorrow at precisely 10 am PST. It’s been a long time coming, what with reports of a last-minute delay to Apex‘s Battle Pass, but early signs suggest that players are about to experience a tantalizing expansion to the industry’s #1 shooter.
