Pokemon Sword and Shield

New Poll Reveals The Most Popular Pokémon Sword And Shield Starter

A new poll has revealed which of the three Pokémon Sword And Shield starters is the most popular, and the results probably won't be much of a surprise.

Grookey! Scorbunny! Sobble! The UK-inspired region of Galar! It’s all about to go down in the world of Pokémon, after Nintendo and Game Freak revealed Sword and Shield, the eighth generation of those adorable pocket monsters, earlier this week.

Due to hit store shelves later this year, Pokémon Sword and Shield are packed to the rafters with new critters to collect and dungeons to explore, and though we’re still without an exact launch date, both Sword and Shield are already available to pre-order.

Like all great Pokémon adventures though, it’ll all begin with a choice – a choice that will define the journey ahead. Simply put, that choice is which of the three starters will you choose as your companion? Your options are the aforementioned Grookey, Scorbunny or Sobble, and they’re all incredibly cute, but based on a recent poll conducted by the official Pokémon Twitter account, it appears as if most people will be going with the third option, with Scorbunny coming in at a close second.

Despite what this poll says, you can’t go wrong with any of these starters, as they each bring something fun and unique to the table. But beyond just Grookey, Scorbunny or Sobble, Sword and Shield will usher in a number of other exciting new additions and changes to the wonderful world of Pokémon – even if some would rather have those pocket monsters roaming the overworld as we saw in Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee – and we can’t wait to find out what else awaits us.

Set in the lush 3D world of Galar, Pokémon Sword and Shield will arrive on the Nintendo Switch later this year, when it’ll join Super Mario Maker 2, Yoshi’s Crafted World, Astral Chain, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Fire Emblem: Three Houses on Nintendo’s exciting 2019 schedule.
