Oh boy, the Overwatch teasers are coming thick and fast now, aren’t they? Blizzard has just released a new image on Twitter (via Game Informer) that may well provide some clues as to who is next in line to join the shooter’s playable cast, and it appears to be connected to the in-universe interview published earlier this week on the game’s official website.

The image, which you can see above, is accompanied by a snippet of flavor text that reads: “[BREAKING] OR15 defence units destroyed in confrontation with unidentified assailant at Numbani airport. No civilian casualties reported.” Now, there’s a huge number of questions that the teaser raises, but putting aside the speculation of who it was that left a crater in the wall of Numbani airport, take note of the reference made to the OR15 defence units. That exact same model of robot was mentioned in Efi Oladele’s interview which, according to the child genius, are similar to something she one day aspires to make in order to keep people safe.

I want to create things that make our lives better. And someday, my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.

Interesting. We already know that Efi herself won’t be Overwatch‘s next hero, but could the above image perhaps be hinting that Numbani officials are looking for a new model of robot to succeed the OR15? It certainly doesn’t look to have fared too well against whoever attacked the city’s airport.

We’ll need Blizzard to release more jigsaw pieces before a more concrete theory can be put together, but it certainly seems as if, for now at least, that Overwatch‘s next character will be an invention of Efi’s.
