Risen 2: Dark Waters Will Now Set Sail Onto Consoles On July 31

The delay bug has once again crept into the harbor where Risen 2: Dark Waters is awaiting its chance to board the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. After having already received one delay, those console versions will have to endure an even longer wait before reaching controller-using shores. They’re now expected to launch on July 31 in North America and August 3 in Europe.

In order to offset the disappointment that is sure to come with this news, Deep Silver has announced its plans to include an extra episode in those packages. Known as The Air Temple, it will add several hours of playtime, as the game’s unnamed hero must search for a lost temple that happens to be the source of the region’s air magic.

With all that being said, PC gamers can still look forward to playing this swashbuckling adventure on April 27.

About Risen 2: Dark Waters
In Risen 2: Dark Waters, the Inquisition dispatches the hero to seek a remedy against the monstrous sea creatures that are interfering with the shipping lines, thus cutting off the islands’ supplies. The pirates seem to know how to deal with these critters … but they are hardly cooperative. New gameplay elements add to the diversity of Risen 2; for example, players can also use firearms now. And, being pirates, adventurers can also employ special new skills called Dirty Tricks, allowing them to confuse or attack enemies in combat.
