Early this morning, Bert Nordberg, a Sony exec, hinted quite clearly at the existence of a PlayStation Phone. When asked about it in a Wall Street Journal interview, the Ericsson (Sony’s phone division)Â Chief Executive said, “There’s a lot of smoke, and I tell you there must be a fire somewhere.” Going on, he said, “I haven’t dug into that history, but the future might be brighter,” when speaking on why Sony hadn’t combined its phone and gaming hardware together by now.
Clearly, his attempt at being coy is a little ham-fisted, and this “I know something you don’t know” attitude so soon after Sony announced its PS3-exclusive reveal on the twelfth of December seems pretty fishy. Perhaps some connectivity between Sony’s console and the gaming smart phone? Only time will tell.
