It has been a long time coming, but Electronic Arts will finally officially debut Star Wars Battlefront at next month’s Star Wars Celebration. EA previously announced that the title is currently scheduled to launch during the holiday 2015 release window.

We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars™ Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19. We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it.

Originally revealed way back in 2013, Star Wars Battlefront is the long-awaited next entry in the popular multiplayer shooter. With original series developer Pandemic Studios long shuttered, Battlefield developer DICE is handling development duties this time around.

Despite the fact that we have known about the title for close to two years now, there still isn’t a ton of information available on it. Gameplay footage of Battlefront was recently screened, though, and was received with rapturous applause. So we’re definitely looking forward to what EA has in store.

Considering I wasn’t expecting to see anything from Star Wars Battlefront until this year’s E3 conference, I’m pleasantly surprised that we’ll get a glimpse at it next month. It has been close to a decade since we got a full-fledged console entry in the series, and suffice to say, fans are getting antsy about waging war once again.
