Stealth Inc: A Clone In The Dark Poised To Infiltrate iOS Platforms

Having originally crept out of the shadows onto PC platforms in 2011, Stealth Bastard has proliferated onto both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita as the newly titled Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark. However, in an interview with Pocket Gamer, the game’s developer Jonathan Biddle revealed that work is already underway to bring the challenging platformer to iOS. With that said, the British developer confessed that there’s no timeline for the release due to difficulty porting the game’s resolution.

“The different screen resolutions and aspect ratios have meant creating three different versions of each of the game’s 80 levels – iPad, widescreen iPhone and 4:3 iPhone. Testing the iOS version of the game now means playing it through three times every time the levels are changed.”

Combining traditional platforming with tactical espionage, Curve Studios’ indie title features minimalistic level design and excellent lighting. With references to industry cornerstones such as Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid, Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark is a slice of gaming heritage that is the perfect title to pick up and play.

Over the last two years, Biddle’s creation has grown from a humble hobby project into a successful 2D genre piece. The fact that iOS will mark the game’s seventh platform, with Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark already available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, PS Vita and Android, is a testimony to this burgeoning achievement.

Biddle also stated that the Curve Studios plan to shift its focus toward digital publishing after the iOS release of Stealth Inc, with the studio planning to release various new projects during the course of 2014. Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark is at once a great gaming homage and an addictive platformer.
