Over the past few days, Telltale Games has drip-fed ardent fans of Westeros with precious few details pertaining to the studio’s latest episodic series, Game of Thrones. But today, the revered development team lifted the curtain on their much-anticipated take on the brutal and unforgiving world of one George R.R. Martin, revealing that the game will take place between seasons three and five of HBO’s show.

That’s not all the information the company had to divulge, though, as Telltale revealed that the adaptation will indeed orbit around the northerly Forrester clan, providing you with the chance to step into the shoes of five playable characters throughout the course of the series’ six-episode run. And while the family are situated towards the north of the fictional region, the studio teased that players will be visiting some of the more memorable monuments, including The Wall, Essos and Ironrath.

The latter location is home to the Forrester clan who, despite being considered minor characters in the grand, politically-corrupt scheme of things, still have ties to the Stark family and are to have an integral role in Telltale’s ambitious series.

The maiden episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones, Iron From Ice, will arrive before the end of 2014. In the meantime, you can whet your appetite for the Forrester-centric adventure with the official synopsis below.

“Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom. Our game series is based on the world, characters, and events seen in HBO’s TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin’s books (A Song of Ice and Fire). The events in our game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the TV show, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. You will visit familiar locations such as King’s Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.”
