Fans eagerly anticipating the release of the newest Tomb Raider adventure will be disappointed to hear that Crystal Dynamics has decided against releasing a demo, prior to the game’s launch on March 5th.

A recent tweet from the twittersphere reveals solid confirmation from Global Brand Director, Karl Stewart, about the lack of a Tomb Raider demo.

“For all those Tomb Raider fans asking. There are no plans to release a demo of the game pre-launch. We don’t want to spoil the story…”

It’s already understood that the strength of the single player campaign relies heavily upon the emotional struggle Lara undertakes as she struggles to survive the dangers on the island. As we pick up our controllers and step back into the boots of many gamers’ most idolized gaming heroine. We will be witnessing the birth of a legend.

Personally, I don’t blame the team for having confidence in their vision and believing that fans will be drawn into the world without a demo. However, it does make me wonder why the team wouldn’t simply give the fans a taste of what’s to come for themselves. There are tons of gameplay videos that have been steadily arriving alongside more and more game information. It forces my curiosity into new levels. What twists and turns can Crystal Dynamics possibly still have in their sleeve?

Be sure to pre-order your copy of Tomb Raider, and get yourself ready for March 5th.

Stockpile your favorite snacks and beverages now, because once you rush home and rip the cellophane off your freshly pressed copy you probably won’t be seeing the light of day for quite some time. Should Crystal Dynamics have at least given fans something pre-launch, or is keeping the story under wraps a smart decision? Let us know what you think about the lack of a Tomb Raider demo in the comments below!
