Though it’s been rumored for a few months now, Square Enix has finally confirmed that a sequel to the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot is “well into development,” according to CEO Phil Rogers.
Darrell Gallagher, head of product development and studios at Square Enix, said the following today in regards to the confirmation:
“It’s still early days, so I’m afraid I can’t provide any further details for now save my assurance that we’re not resting on our laurels and acclaim from Tomb Raider’s recent successes, but working hard to raise the bar even higher and re-affirm the faith you’ve shown.”
Personally, I think Tomb Raider is one of the best games that’s been released all year. When it comes to video games, I’m hard to impress. I don’t know why but very few games can hold my attention and despite a few exceptions here and there, I usually grow bored of any given title after only a few hours with it.
Tomb Raider though, had me glued to my screen, not wanting to put it down, so news of a sequel is obviously music to my ears. I can’t wait to continue Lara’s thrilling adventure.
