As if the hype surrounding the fight couldn’t get any greater, the two stars will now also be fighting for the honour of joining so many other sporting legends on the cover of a huge EA Sports game.

UFC 2 cover

EA Sports first confirmed that UFC 2 was being developed in November, complete with the trailer as shown above. The game is due for release in Spring 2016 and a large number of improvements and new features have already been announced.

The first confirmed cover star, Rousey, spoke of her joy at being involved with the game:

“As a gamer myself, it’s pretty surreal to be on the cover of the game and to have a woman on the cover of a UFC game shows a lot of progress”

Both Aldo and McGregor will be hoping to avoid Rousey’s fate, as she suffered her first defeat having just been announced as the game’s first cover star. Of course, only one can emerge victorious, and so Rousey’s co-star for UFC 2 will be confirmed in just a few weeks.
