Worms W.M.D adds new strategic elements of gameplay to the traditional wormy warfare, allowing players to use exciting vehicles and even enter buildings. Whether you take to the skies and rain down bullets on the worms below using the helicopter, or traverse across the landscape in warfare-ready tanks, each will help you get around faster, protect your worms and fire a barrage of shots at your foes.

Worms W.M.D features a single player mode with training, campaign and challenge modes and, once you’ve conquered the single player portion, you can compete in crazy multiplayer with local couch co-op and online modes supporting up to 6 players with up to 8 worms each.

Debbie Bestwick, CEO of Team17, introduced the experience in a recent press release:

After recently celebrating Team17’s 25th anniversary, 2016 marks 21 years for the Worms franchise. Besides making lots of us feel old, we listened to our loyal fans to create what we believe is the definitive Worms experience in W.M.D. Fans will now also be able to pick the game up in boxed form from retailers around the globe.

Worms W.M.D will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year. In the meantime, you can check out the latest trailer, introducing a new weapon called the Unwanted Present, at the top of the page.
