5 Things We Learnt At The Valerian SDCC Panel

In an alternate universe, where time-travel is real, I wish I could go back and warn myself of something that I absolutely underestimated: the excitement I would feel for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Sure, prior to attending the Hall H panel for the upcoming sci-fi flick I was certainly curious about it, but after walking away from my seat I was absolutely blown away and shivering with excitement.

Sadly, we live in this universe, where one can’t time travel, so I’m stuck replaying star Cara Delevingne kicking some MAJOR alien butt alongside co-star Dane DeHaan over and over and over again. Based on the iconic French comic book series, titled Valerian and Laureline, and coming to us from the visionary director who brought audiences The Fifth Element, Luc Besson, the film promises to be everything you could have wanted and so much more.

Honestly, I truly believe Valerian is going to knock everyone’s socks off and give every other space-epic a run for it’s money. Why? Well, while speaking to the smaller-than-it-should-have-been-crowd in Hall H, Mr. Besson and his brilliant wife and co-producer of the film, Virginie Besson-Silla, made it clear exactly how much this film means to them and how excited they are for the world to see it.

So, without further ado, here are five of the most important things we learned about Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets at Comic-Con.
