Fans who have already seen Captain America: Civil War can breathe a sigh of relief that the movie is just as awesome as we all hoped, managing to deliver the requisite superhero vs. superhero action but also never losing sight of the characters and the story. It certainly did succeed in a lot of ways, but it did also leave a few questions unanswered.

Iron Man 3 We Got This Covered Review

Early on in Civil War, we learn of the surprising development that Tony and Pepper are currently separated, something that is eating at Tony and contributes to him signing the Sokovia Accords. It is explained that their relationship became strained after Tony repeatedly returned to active superhero duty as Iron Man, after promising to retire after the events of Iron Man 3.

But does this mean that Tony and Pepper have broken up for good? Like Natalie Portman’s absence from future Thor movies, this split could have been forced upon the characters by Gwyneth Paltrow wanting to move on. Or perhaps this is setting up a reunion in Iron Man 4, which Downey Jr. is suddenly up for doing again.

On the other hand, Tony seemed to hit it off with Aunt May in this movie – could Peter Parker be about to land himself a super-cool step uncle?
